Goal-Setting: two key things to keep in mind

We have covered iteration goals and PI objectives… but forgot to put forth two key things to the forefront … it has been on the background because it is assumed that these are common sense.

I have seen folks setting their goals using a lot of sentences describing it.

And they leave it at that.

They forget two important things:

1) to keep the goal in one short sentence. The intent should be clear and short. It is easy to remember. Easy to revisit as often as you need it to be.

2) to set the target date of its achievement.

That’s it!

SMART goals and objectives they say… easy to say… hard to do and remember to apply. If you can remember just two things, these are it: ) to keep Goal to one short sentence ; 2) to set the target date of its achievement.

Remember to apply these two key things to your iteration goals and PI objectives… now!
