‘What’s a milestone?’, our parish priest asked. The kids who were being confirmed (a confirmation is a Roman Catholic ceremony for teens affirming their faith) were silent. No response. I surmised most of them were thinking this could be a trick question. Then someone — one of the kids — yelled: ‘a significant event or stage in the life of a person!’
Our parish priest nodded in agreement and added some more texture to it… going back to the Roman Empire era.
