After the completion of the agility health question and answer portion of the overall agility Heath assessment, a retrospective exercise follows. A peer reviewer — a reviewer outside your team (not even your team coach!) — reviews the agility health questionnaire answers/results with you and your team. You will find –upon seeing the answers to each question by your team — that the agility health radar will show where people are at. Example: you may find that everyone will be everywhere on a particular question (a gray area to be looked at and have conversation with the team); on the other hand, on other questions, there is consensus… none gray area… general agreement reached…good or bad.
Observations can be noted vis-a-vis the agility health assessment.
Growth opportunities can also be noted… with a plan to achieve it.
A growth plan must be the result of the assessment / review process. Improvement roadmap for the next quarter or two … for the teams. Conversations without a go-forward plan is just that, a conversation leading to nowhere! Make conversations count … have a growth plan… one to three growth plan items is enough.
Continuous and relentless improvement is the objective. If your team is ‘crawling’ now, then you need a plan for your team’s maturity level to be ‘walking’ next assessment time.
This peer review exercise is a retrospective… with improvement plan / roadmap for the team.
There will be improvement items that will not be for the team to address… it could be for the program (ART), portfolio, organization, or enterprise to address… and these will be noted as such.
