Prioritization Is Key

Our one reason why we went to Pagudpud is to swim in its calm and clear ocean waters and enjoy the white sands.

Well… we were able to do that… but we did not have enough time to enjoy the beach! Why? Poor prioritization. In this case, it is due to poor sequencing of ‘places’ to visit.

Along the way to the beaches at Pagudpud, there are lots of beautiful places … that were beckoning for us to visit…tempting… so we did!

But the visits reduced our swim time — we had only 1 full day at Pagudpud.

What we should have done was to ignore all temptations and went directly to the Blue Lagoon Beach where we swam in — in its calm clear blue ocean water …and…

play and take pictures on its white sands.

Only one day of swimming is not enough… as we found out for ourselves… too late. Perhaps next time… we will have more days at the beach now that we know better.

Key idea: you cannot do it all. Prioritize! Do the right thing at the right time. When push comes to shove, know which one to do first — the one you ranked highly according to importance!

My succeeding posts are about my family’s travel to the Philippines and Australia… and we are taking SAFe and the Lean Agile Way of Working/Living with us… and see how others outside of the USA are doing with the Lean Agile Way of Working/Living. Each post will have a Key Idea for you to ponder upon if you wish. There are many other ideas like this — short but sweet ideas —  in my new book, ‘SAFe (6.0) Is like …’ . It is available on Amazon… and it has reached ‘# 1 New Release’ several times! Check it out.
