One of the first things a newborn person receives is a name. Roman Catholic parents long time ago opted for names of saints. For example, if a baby was born on June 5th, then the baby’s name would be Boniface, after St. Boniface (see image below). A name is a great addition to a person’s sense of identity.
One of the first things a newly formed Agile team receives is a name from its team members. This provides a boost to the team’s sense of identity… and best of all, the team’s name came from the team’s members… and not from management.
If you haven’t named your team just yet or your team’s name did not come from your team members, then start this team-naming exercise ASAP with your whole team members participating!
