Lean Portfolio Management ((LPM) is out … its general availability to the public was in fact July 8th.
This course, Lean Portfolio Management ((LPM), aligns strategy with execution… it really ‘completes’ the SAFe framework’ full stack treatment in terms of breadth and depth… more info and exercises to bring home the point of each learning in the course… stretching it to a 3-day course as a result.
It is one of the five SAFe competencies… these competencies were introduced in SAFe 4.6.
Contrast that to the 2 hours light treatment of LPM in the PO/PM 4.6 course… which is already a very interesting PO/PM training section by itself … however, every time I teach it in my PO/PM classes, I’ve always felt needing some more digging deeper into the subject. The makers of SAFe is aware of this sentiment … a sentiment not coming from me alone.
After going through SAFe’s LPM course, all I can say is this: ‘It is worth the effort (need time to digest concepts into concrete practice), time (3 days!) and investment ($2,695) to get deeper into LPM!’
