There Is Visual Thinking…And Then… Part II

We, if not most people, think in terms of pictures… visuals. Example: when someone says ‘A hot Cup of Coffee’… most of us in our minds, we visualize it… in terms of pictures… not in terms of a bunch of words and letters.

When we are collaborating and trying to analyze something — breaking a huge thing into small pieces in order to help us understanding it… does it make sense for us to collectively use visuals?

Likewise when we synthesize something — piecing things together… things from a huge data and information ‘lake’…creatively and meaningfully connecting these things … ‘connecting the dots’… into one meaningful picture… does it make sense for us to collectively use visuals?

Once we understand the picture… what if there is a bigger picture out there? What if this picture that you have just pieced or connected together is just part of a greater whole!? Does it make sense then for us to collectively use visuals to again creatively and meaningfully connect the dots — pictures chained together — to see the greater whole?

This is called Visual Chain Thinking. Connecting things to see the bigger and biggest picture possible in space and time… yes, not just the picture of ‘now’ but also the picture over time… connecting things today to the future.

To be continued…
