Things Happen for a Reason

Yasgur’s Farm — where the Woodstock 3 days fest happened in summer of ‘69

Things happen for a reason, indeed! The place for the 3 days music fest was first set for Woodstock… then Wallkill … then Bethel where Yasgur’s Farm is located. And the fest unfolded in a beautiful way — Yasgur’s Farm was perfect!

Things emerge along the way; however good a plan is, emergent things could render a plan useless. Plans are useless … but planning is essential.

This ‘plan changes’ is a regular phenomenon after a PI Planning event… we can plan all day long but something emerges after the PI Planning event; plan then becomes useless … but the PI planning event was essential… PI Objectives — the north star or the promises or the goals — were written.

No one can see everything. Every step forward reveals something new; something emerges beyond intentional design.

Therefore, responding to change rather than following a plan is the way to go… ‘zig-zag’ your way to the ‘goal’…

From ‘Problem Solving 101’ by Ken Watanabe

And things happen for a reason… have faith and do something — a step — towards the goal!

Have faith that it will unfold in a beautiful way … just like the Woodstock 3 days music fest of summer of ‘69.

There are many other ideas like this — short but sweet ideas — are found in over 60 topics in my new book, ‘SAFe (6.0) Is like …’ … available on Amazon… it has reached ‘# 1 New Release’ several times! Check it out.
