Focus

Ants.

Yes, ants. Put a barrier on their path and they will figure out what to do (move around it, over it, remove it, etc.) and continue on to their destination. They are so focused on getting to where they are headed.

They are good at doing their jobs too. They think winter during summer… they gather food.

Lots to learn from ants… focus is one of these.

As a team, focus all your efforts and skills on doing the work that you’ve committed to doing. Do your job…don’t worry about anything else.

Distractions? Make those transparent… put those in stories and assign points. This demand will take off capacity from the team. Ask: what’s this distraction got to do with the sprint goal?

Focus is one of the five Scrum values. Stay focused… everyday.
